It’s been really hot lately, and I don’t particularly like taking Emma out when that happens – though I probably should as a test.

That said, yesterday peaked out around 75 degrees, so I figured there’s no time like the present, and we went for a Haircut/Buffalo Wild Wings trip. Nothing major.

She’s running great! A few observations:

  • Temp when warmed stays steady around 180 to 190. I think that’s probably fine for a 60 year old engine
  • However, oil pressure is normal up around 85 to 90 psi. I feel like this is a little high. I originally put 20W50 oil in her to help combat the heavy idle problem we were getting – and I think it’s probably time to reintroduce 10W30 and see how things go
    • This COULD be a sending unit issue – though I don’t have a proper “sending unit” per say – the oil pressure on this car is completely analog – could still be plugged, though I doubt it. I think the oil is just really really thick
  • I’ve been watching a lot of Roadkill and adjacent TV shows recently, and they make replacing the carpet look so easy – so this might be the next major job. I hate the carpet in Emma – it’s all stained and gross
  • I still haven’t touched the rear differential on this car – so that may have to be in consideration

Oh! I also have fan shroud brackets on the way – 3rd attempt at this. Turns out I have a 4 (bay?) radiator. Who knew?

In any case, here’s a picture of Tobias P. Kerven, esq. for good measure. I would build him his own little throne in the car for trips if he didn’t absolutely hate cars.

LET’S KEEP IN TOUCH!

I’d love to inundate you with inanity!
