I know, I know. We love the weekend, but honestly the amount of things on my to-do list give me paralysis.

Let’s map it out:

• Add replacement driver’s side mirror: DONE – The ball-and-socket on this thing was toast. Got one ordered before tariffs hit.

• Reinstalled original battery and added a blade-style disconnect to the negative post: DONE. Hold-down system dialed in to avoid fires.

That’s where the exhaust manifold connects to the down-pipe. There should be a donut gasket and nuts on both sides. There aren’t.

No wonder my exhaust sounds like Tom Waits.

Ordered new gaskets and hardware from CJ Pony Parts. Arrived in two days – love that place.

Here’s the big project this weekend. I’ll need the love of my life:

• New dash bulbs – the new ones are so janky I had to order sleeves to hold them in.

• Fix under-dash wiring and re-hide the fuse box

…with this modern thing:

The connectors need to be soldered and heat-shrinked. My wife’s tiny carny hands will help mount it under the dash with industrial Velcro.

• Put Emma up on ramps and jack stands to check transmission oil
• Replace horn wiring inside the wheel – current kit is garbage

Yeah, so if I get all that done this weekend… who are we kidding?
