I really did order a part for the heater blower motor with the best intentions. I was led to believe that it was an easy replacement to do… the blower motor I have has some dodgy wiring going on.

But then I got under the dash and started looking at things….

You’re looking at my heating system, pulled away from the firewall of the inside of the car…. The gridded item at 12-o-clock is the heater coil. It’s frag-ee-lee.

In order to fix this thing I must:

  1. Drain the coolant from the engine
  2. Gently remove the coolant hoses in the engine compartment (leaving trails of coolant everywhere
  3. Gently remove the heater coil without damaging it
  4. change out the blower motor
  5. Do 1 thru 4 in reverse

Where we ended:

This is Bored-August-Brian’s problem now…

I’m going to put this mfer back together and drive the car. Maybe snip the wires and cap them off. I don’t even use the heater anyway. If you’ve ever driven a 1960s muscle car, you already know you don’t need a heater.

LET’S KEEP IN TOUCH!

I’d love to inundate you with inanity!
