To my two (2) loyal readers: hello!

It’s been a long time. As you know, life has been extremely busy lately, and Emma has taken a back seat (get it?!)

As an aside, I am officially the guy from the math problem:

I ordered (what I thought was) 10 bananas from Fred Meyer as part of my grocery order.

Nevertheless, I’ve still found a little time here and there to make Emma run demonstrably worse, and then not at all.

Project Oil Pressure Gauge has been a non-stop series of collossal failures, unfortunately.

I’ve now broken two (2) oil pressure gauges. Also the second one eventually started to leak (luckily I had a plastic bag wrapped around it).

So, like any captialist, I just ordered a whole new set of gauges – a threefer.

Once that little fella is here, I’ll run that sending unit for the temp back to the block (on the intake manifold) and (hopefully) finish the oil pressure nightmare.

While that was going on, I thought it would be a good idea to set up the Edelbrock carb to Edelbrock recommended settings – including moving some of the hoses to different ports. No luck. Made the car run SO much worse. So much worse, in fact that it flooded the engine.

April, Liam, and me had to push her back into the garage.

So, while we wait for her to dry up from the flooding, April decided to help me rebuild the carb with a brand new Edelbrock 1477 kit.

We’re not quite done yet, but it’s been a real adventure.

Also, her battery died at some point, so it’s (not) running off the backup battery.

As a silver lining, I found a fella locally who runs a shop, is used to working on classic cars, and has agreed to see me to set a baseline good tuning. Once I get it running, that is.

Sometimes you gotta take a step back I guess.

Oh! I almost forgot. As I was removing the old sending unit and cable from the motor, spotted this godforsaken wiring issue that I will eventually have to trace and fix.

C’mon people.

I’m so close to just ripping all wiring out and starting over. That would be extremely expensive, however.

What an adventure!

LET’S KEEP IN TOUCH!

I’d love to inundate you with inanity!
