Kill(Me)mat

07/26/2026

I got into Emma today and put in ALMOST half a side of Kilmat! This stuff is remarkable, actually. It's flexible, maliable, forgiving, etc. I love it.

When you put this stuff in, you have to peel off the backing, stick it down, and then roll over every inch with roller tools (one of which is pictured at 9-o-clock in the photo above).

You can also see I cut out a hole for the bigger drain plug.

I also took some spray paint and marked for my wife where the original seat-bolt holes

I've additionally ordered some heat preventer for the firewall - specifically under/behind the pedals, and under the heater box on the Drinker's side (and maybe the transmission hump).

I know they look similar, and Kilmat might have some heat blocking capability, but it's built as a sound deadener.

Better to overlay it with something designed to block the heat from that giant fireball explosion machine under the hood.

It gets toasty.

One step closer!
