What is a Saturday but Joy in Borrowed Robes?
Saturdays are that weird purgatory between the elation that is a Friday night and the existensial dread that is a Sunday.
I had every intention of getting out there today. Sanding down my pin-hole patches. Covering them with more sealant.
Doing all the things!
But, I'm afraid I went out there with a stomach ache, opened the garage door, put on some classic rock, and... promptly overheated.
MAN it's humid today.
I'm old, man. I overheat so quickly these days.
Anyway, after sitting in front of the fan for a while, the project turned into "let's replace this hose and call it a day."
Some project days be like that.

It *looks* easy - but I assure you it took a lot of wranging and wife-help to get it off.
What are we doing??
Why are we replacing that gorgeous metal-braided radiator hose with a plain, boring rubber hose?
Oh. I don't like it.
No really, that's kind of it. I don't like the braided aluminum thing.
It's not really an aesthetic thing for me (though I do think it looks cheap), it's more that I literally cannot tell the state of the rubber hose under all that metal.
So I replaced it with a high-quality rubber hose:
Should be noted that in order to accomplish this - I had to drain the radiator again -

Later I'll replace the bottom hose, too - it's already pure rubber though, so I'm not as worried about that one.
As a bonus, here's an embarrassing video of me painting the bottom of the passenger's side with rust-converter from a couple of weekends ago:
